If you’re a fan of soccer and you either want to practice with a few of your friends or even your team, here are a few soccer fields in the area that are worth checking out:
The Athletic Recreation Center: The recreation center located on 1400 N. 26th street is located near the Art Museum downtown. This soccer field is open from the early Spring to late Fall. Cedar Grove Park: This park located on 84 Cedar Grove Road offers a wide variety of soccer and baseball fields. Located just a few miles away from downtown Conshohocken, this field is often home to many leagues. If you want to play here, be sure to know of the league schedules before showing up.
Fairmount Park: Located on the corner of Chamounix Drive and Ford Road, Fairmount Park offers a handful of beautiful soccer fields that are opened from the early Spring to Fall. Operated by the Fairmount Park Comission, these fields are openly available during the weekdays when leagues aren’t in play.
Guerin Playground: The Guerin Playground is located on 16th and Jackson street. This particular playground is all indoors allowing all to play sports such as soccer year around. Operated by the Philadelphia Department of Recreation, refer to their website to find out about open night soccer nights.
Monkiewicz Playground: This outdoor playground has a handful of soccer and football fields. Located on 3201 Richmond Street, this playground is only minutes away from the city center.
